In 1998 Tony
Vincent wanted to buy a business, but the information available
was insufficient to make a good business decision. He quickly
realized that the owners of good smaller middle market companies
could benefit from a more professional approach to selling a
business.
From this experience, Tony created Alpha Omega Capital Partners
in early 1999 to focus on smaller middle market companies. Rather
than offering a simplistic – real estate type –
listing service that relied on sketchy financial and company
information supported by copies of tax returns, which is common
to business brokers, he decided to build the professional firm
that middle market companies needed and deserved. This new Richmond,
VA based firm would offer tenacious service to clients and prepare
high quality, in depth offering memorandums that anticipated
all the questions that a buyer (like Tony) would ask. This Virginia
based firm would also use a robust marketing system that sought
out qualified business buyers from throughout the region and
the country, and employ seasoned professionals experienced in
mergers and acquisitions.
Tony was the first of these seasoned professionals. As the VP of Corporate
Acquisitions for American Filtrona, he identified and acquired numerous
middle market companies located throughout the world. Fred Doster joined the firm in February of 2007 to employ his many years of M&A and financial management experience to manage client projects in Kentucky and surrounding areas.
The combined experience and skills of our team present a resource to our clients rarely seen in mid-market firms.
